How to Master Overseas Travel

morocco

I had my first passport before I turned one, so needless to say I’ve basically got my traveling hacks down to a t. I’ve been wanting to share both my flying tips and my tips to travel overseas with you but I wasn’t sure how to separate the two. I finally decided to just combine them both! I’ve been to several different countries on multiple continents and this list goes for everything! Hope this helps :)

ON THE FLIGHT

Wear Layers- It can get super hot on the plane. Or super cold. Nothing is worse than being uncomfortable for 8 hours straight and not having a backup plan.

Headphones- Most of us have bluetooth headphones by now but forget (cough cough me) to bring old headphones for the plane. I always end up finding something I want to watch on the flight tv screen and then realize that I forgot the right kind of headphones. Your own are MUCH better than the ones the flight attendants give out.

Apps- Have the airline app on your phone before you travel. It saves lives. It makes things so much easier for booking, tracking your bags, watching flight delays, etc.

YUNI shower sheets- I already included these in my January favorites but they’re too good not to include in this. Pretty much an essential.

OFF THE FLIGHT

Chargers- Countries in Europe and Asia have different voltages and outlets so it’s important to pack whatever chargers you may need. It can sometimes be difficult to find them once you are there.

This one from Apple is my favorite because you buy one kit and can interchange it for whatever country you will be in. I had a friend that bought a cheap adapter and his phone ended up melting…seriously!

This is the one I use for my hair straightener and things like that. Cheap and effective!

Crossbody Purse- The most important one of them all…. a purse that ZIPS!! Get yourself a crossbody purse that you can wear in front of you and zip so nobody can stick their hand in it. I have gone this long without being pick pocketed because of this… knock on wood!

Meds- Bring simple meds that you might need on any given day like Ibuprofen or Tums. Other countries (usually) don’t have the same brand names and it’s pain to have to go out and find them.

Ibuprofen PM- To help with jetlag! Sometimes it can be really hard to fall asleep and I find this to be much better than melatonin. Melatonin leaves me feeling gross the next day and after a long travel day you might just be desperate for a good nights sleep.

Packing Cubes- I have recommended these to my friends and every single one of them has come back and told me they are obsessed! They make life so much easier. It not only lets you pack a lot more but it makes it stress-free to find clothes once in a hotel. I designate each cube to something different like -comfy clothes- underwear- dressy clothes- etc.

Passport Case- The ones that include pens are super nice fore when they (always) forget to give you them for customs forms.

Rain Jacket- Even if rain isn’t in the forecast… bring one! Even if it’s just for a windbreaker.

Comfortable Shoes- You will regret it if you don’t. Believe me! There is often cobblestone streets, dirt roads, or you get tired of paying for cabs.

Clean Water- This obviously isn’t something you can pack, but a good tip. Always look up what the quality of the tap water is where you are but it’s better not to risk it. In places like Mexico, India, and Morocco I didn’t even risk it when brushing my teeth. You don’t want to be sick for the entire trip.

Hope this helps a few of you :) Leave a comment telling me your dream destination!
